Outsource is pleased to announce the opening of our Austin office, the company’s 17th location nationwide and our 4th in Texas.
The office is led by native Texan and Regional Leader Blaine Monteau, who has been with Outsource for nearly 10 years and currently manages P&L for the Houston and San Antonio locations. The new location will be approximately 1000 sq. feet, with half of the space dedicated to training new technicians. We are currently looking to hire a Recruiter to focus exclusively on the Austin market.
Growth Opportunity in Austin
Outsource moved into Austin to take advantage of the city’s booming economy, rapid expansion, and the opportunity that the skilled labor gap provides. The city is home to some of the world’s biggest tech companies, including Tesla, Facebook, Samsung, Oracle, and Dell.
Skilled Cabling and Electrical Technicians
The new Austin location has the ability to recruit and train low voltage cabling and electrical technicians in order to create a viable talent pool of skilled talent to meet the high demands of a rapidly growing Austin market. Outsource specializes in training people looking to transition into a skilled trade and we offer the OSHA 10 course that covers job safety, health, as well as job site etiquette. Training is not only free, but we actually pay you for the time upon successful completion of the course. Trainees will also leave with a complete set of tools, including a tool pouch, a punch down tool, a multibit screwdriver, snips, sharpie, electrical tape, and PPE (hard hat, safety gloves, safety glasses, and safety vest).
Ready To Deliver Talent
Austin will provide the same level of service and talent that our clients have come to expect from Outsource. We offer same day account set up, our work is guaranteed on every placement, and we deliver on demand as early as the next day.

Almost anyone can become an excellent manager. If you want to become a better manager, know that it is a skill you can learn through practice and a commitment to improvement. Choose one of these ways to sharpen your skills, and work on them until it becomes second nature. Then move on to the next one. In no time, you’ll be a better manager, and your team will improve along with you.
Motivate Yourself First
A manager needs to be motivated. If not,
then the team has less chance of becoming motivated and buying into the tasks
and goals you’re pitching to them. Your people need to believe in what they are
doing, and that starts with you projecting to them that you believe in it.
Show your workers that you are a motivated leader, and you’ll get better
results from them.
Lead Your Team in the Right Direction
Once you have motivated your team to
perform on a higher level, you need to direct them and lead them towards a goal.
This ability to lead others to a common goal is what separates great managers
from the run-of-the-mill variety.
Communicate Effectively
Communication is arguably one of the
most critical skills a manager can develop. It’s nearly impossible to become a
better manager if you are unable to communicate your vision to the team. How
can you motivate them if they can’t understand what you want?
The good news is that you can improve
your communication skills by practicing them. Whenever you have important points
to get across, prepare them in advance, and practice them out loud.
Work on Self-improvement
Just like your people, you must
strive to improve every day. Recognize those areas that you need to work on and
start improving them. Research some new leadership methods or talk to other
successful managers for ideas. Your immediate supervisor could also be an
excellent source for ways you can fine-tune your leadership skills.
Be an Ethical Manager
The importance of ethical conduct in
management can’t be overstated. It’s hard to be a well-respected leader if your
conduct isn’t beyond reproach. And you can’t enforce ethical behavior on your
team if you aren’t setting an example.
Learn to Manage Your Time
Time management means projecting the amount
of time you and your team should spend on each task and doing everything
possible to stick to it. The better you get at managing your limited amount of
time, the better you will become as a manager.
Take Time to Think
Effective leaders typically set aside
some time for reflection. Sitting in your office and thinking about what you
will do next will result in you becoming one of the proactive managers who calmly
consider their actions and make decisions that are the best for any given
situation.

Outsource employs over 300 technicians weekly on jobsites across the continental United States. We work with all the national system integrators and all the major electrical contractors and many of our technicians go on to permanent placement opportunities. Structured Cabling is an excellent entry point into the construction industry and it allows for a diverse amount of options when it comes to choosing a career path. Outsource specializes in training people looking to transition into a skilled trade and we do it at no charge.
Chris Trevino, an Operations Analyst for the company, explains why structured cabling is a viable career option. “The construction industry is always in the needs for new talent band this has never been more true than it is today. In fact, The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced in 2014 that it expects to add nearly 10 million new jobs to the U.S. economy trough 2024. A lot of those jobs will go to skilled trade technicians in the construction industry and structured cabling is a great skill to know. As you gain experience and knowledge, you will be given more responsibility on the job and have the opportunity to transition into other areas of structured cable, including A/V and security installation”
Outsource’s Field Employee Training Program provides quality entry-level low-voltage installers to our clients around the country. The introduction of a robust and well-designed program for entry-level training is done onsite at Outsource and is complete in only four (4) days.
The program, which consists of 2 in the classroom and 2 days obtaining your OSHA certification, gives you the tools, safety equipment, and skills to immediately go out and work with out clients. At Outsource, trainees will learn data jack termination (568A and 568B), professionalism, jobsite etiquette, and will be OSHA certified. All of our trainees will have terminated well over 100 voice and data jacks by the time they are released to the field.
Our training center and corporate headquarters is a 4,000 square foot drop ceiling facility which creates an ideal setting for pulling cable and each class involves many actual cable pulls. Each trainee that finishes the course is outfitted with a 110/66 punch tool, snips, hard hat, safety glasses, and blue t-shirts to wear on jobsites.
Furthermore, Outsource also offers a bonus program for its field technicians. After 520 hours working with Outsource, we will supply you with a $200 bonus and a 6-foot ladder. There are additional bonus increases at 1,040 hours and 2,080 hours.
Sam Jarvis, VP of Operations, says, “We look at our Field Employee Training Program as a philanthropic endeavor. We don’t charge anything for the training program and it’s a way to give back to the community by offering people a way into the industry. We want to take an active role in providing people with an opportunity to better themselves and build a lasting career.”
No previous experience is required to attend training sessions at Outsource. We’re looking for motivated individuals who want to learn a skilled trade that can help build a successful and fulfilling career. If you are looking for a new job opportunity with the possibility for growth, advancement, and fulfilling work at the end of the day, then our training class is for you.
